Location and home size are the two most important considerations a buyer makes in choosing a home and most of the time they must sacrifice one for the other. Homes in urban areas are typically smaller and have less space while homes in rural areas have more space to move around in. But, whether or not you live in the city or suburbs the key to selling your home is to have ample storage space, because believe it or not storage space sells houses.

Storage Spaces to consider

When the tour of your house begins for your prospective buyer, the buyer will be looking out for that something that will attract them to buy your house. As they enter through your front door, check out the kitchen and your bathroom, they will be assessing your home. Although they may not focus on the storage spaces of your home, certain areas that have enough storage space will surely be taken into consideration by your buyer.

Front hall closets - Coats, umbrellas are placed here and if you don't have one, show buyers where you can place them. / Mud room - Usually found at the back or side door where a family member may enter. Storage areas near the place should be taken into account. / Kitchen areas that have good storage space are critical. Cabinets for food and dining storage should be sufficient. / Family room- There are many space saver items that can be used to de-clutter your home and the family room is a great place to start. A well organized family room may do the trick. / Bathrooms / Bedroom Closets - Do not overfill your closets and organize them to make them seem offering ample space. / Attics, garage or basements

It is important to note that if you feel you don't have enough storage space in your home, you should begin to de clutter. De cluttering to provide ample storage space helps in making your home more attractive. Remember a cluttered home is never easy on the eyes of a prospective buyer.
