In response to recent hack of Defence.PK, Pakistan Cyber Army has defaced IndianDefence.com, terming it as a revenge for defence.pk defacement. PCA says that it successfully penetrated into IndianDefence,com's server – they issued screenshots of defaced pages and SQL dump. Pakistan Cyber Army claimed that this was a targeted defacement. In an email sent to ProPakistani PCA officials said that they don't deface/hack websites randomly, instead their attacks are highly targeted and based on past defacements by Indians hackers. They warned Indian hackers to not to hack Pakistani websites again, or they will see the wrath in similar manner in future too. It merits mentioning here that an Indian hacker, named protector, had defaced Defence.PK – a highly active Pakistani forum for defence oriented and related content for Pakistanis. In response to which, IndianDefence.com (which got hacked today) is an equally high value website for Indian defence corners.

After a tough time in the evening, Moon sighting has been verified from the concerned authorities – and Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan has been announced for tomorrow, August 31st, 2011. We wish all Muslim brothers and sisters a very happy Eid; may this day bring eternal happiness to our lives. Wateen has been reviving, we have been hearing. We know, through sources, that new Wateen management has been taking various steps to get the WiMAX giant back to track. Company is aiming to score half million subscribers in next couple of years. Keeping in line with it's efforts, Wateen recently awarded Greenpacket a two-year contract, worth millions of dollars, for the supply of high-gain modem, the UH350. Greenpacket is reportedly the world's third largest supplier of WiMAX CPEs, while this UH350 modem is said to be very stable and reliable in terms of performance and usability.
UH350 supports an optional external antenna too, to further enhance the signals in less or under covered areas. The feature-rich WiMAX modem, which can be used both indoors and outdoors, will now allow Wateen to offer consumers even better instant and reliable network connections. Wateen will be able to keep the firmware for this CEP updated through over-the-air upgrades. The UH350 hybrid modem is particularly suited to serve Wateen Telecom's youth segment in key metro areas such as Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, and will help the company significantly grow this market segment by improving network and service quality. Pakistan's broadband market is expected to reach 4.3 million by the end of 2013, with the mobile broadband segment accounting for almost 50% of the total market – out of which, Wateen currently serves 22% of the wireless broadband market in Pakistan. Zong, the king of Location Based Charging, has decided to abandon unlimited calls for LBC package holders by putting a fair usage policy on utilization of daily free minutes. Zong remained most successful amongst all local operators in capitalizing the location based charging. This is evident from the fact that Zong registered record number of sales in last 12 months or so – (arguably) over the shoulders of these LBC offerings. However, now Zong has decided to cap the unlimited calls by limiting the quota for daily usage. Even after this cap, it's fairly a useful package – given that daily charges for LBC offering are just Rs. 7 plus tax. But the joy of unlimited calling will definitely be missed. Related posts:
