Facebook Shutting Down on March 15th? is a post from: ProPakistani

poa9C 76F thumb Facebook Shutting Down on March 15th?This rumor is spreading all across the web that facebook would shut down its operations on March 15, 2011.

This news initiated from Twitter and later on got published on various blogs and news websites. The source mentioned everywhere is a press conference conducted by March Mark Zuckerberg outside his Palo Alto office.

Zuckerberg was quoted as "Facebook has gotten out of control, and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness."

Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts.

Not only this, there are comments of Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook "Mr. Avrat Humarthi" as well saying "After March 15th the whole website shuts down, So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won't be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business".

The news quite obviously seems a rumor, since Mark himself is fond of posting such astounding things on his Facebook page, as last time we saw the Time Magazine update on his page.

"I don't care about the money," said Zuckerberg. "I just want my old life back."

The way different sources have posted his "I Don't Care attitude" about the billions of money he is earning from Facebook does not give a very realistic picture. The truth on the other hand is that it is not at all easy to wind up such immensely growing business. The website with over 500 million active users no doubt looks difficult to manage, but instead of shutting it down every sane would definitely think of selling it out to get max benefit possible.

Anyhow, The Facebook Corporation suggests that users remove all of their personal information from the website before March 15th. After that date, all photos, notes, links, and videos will be permanently erased.

Turn Your Photo into a Cartoon

Posted: 09 Jan 2011 03:26 AM PST

Overtime, finding new and interesting pictures to post as profile icons on sites like Facebook becomes frustrating. Many people resort to posting cartoon characters or celebrity photos in place of photos of themselves, just to keep the pictures from becoming boring.

Instead of using a cartoon character as a profile picture, try turning your own picture into a cartoon. Using Cartoonize Net, within seconds you can be the next cartoon villain or superhero… or at least look like one.

Almost any photograph will work, but the best ones are of just one person with not too much background flotsam. To start using the service, first choose whether you will upload your photo from your computer or from the Web, like from PhotoBucket or Flickr.

Our first test picture is a photo test was a comical Halloween snapshot. Cartoonize Net made it even more comical, as pictured above. Colors within the photo look color-block style, much like Link in Zelda: The Wind Waker. So, of course, we tried another photo.

The colors in the second Halloween photo were more vivid than the first. Cartoonize Net amplified the blue of the child's shirt and the red of the child's hat, making the photo look like a cartoon cow girl, ready to draw pistols at dawn.

However, in a normal shot with a good amount of background, our results were not as good. This shot of the same child was taken in front of a fountain outside a tourist attraction.

The effect is not bad, but it just is not as good as the headshots with less background.

Overall, Cartoonize Net is a fun way to create new profile pictures. It is a quick, creative tool, sure to bring amusement to our online friends. Our only complaint is the site's background image—it makes some of the text on the page very hard to read.

How to Redirect Water to Keep a Yard from Flooding After Rain

by James Burghardt

Rain runoff from the house roof and concrete driveway and walks leads to an increase flow of water drainage across the yard and garden. Water always flows downward, finding the path of least resistance, which means that any flower bed or patio in the way gets temporarily flooded. If the drainage issue after rain in your yard creates shallow ponds or soggy spots, correcting the problem is much simpler than if torrents of water gush. If water flows across your property because of a nearby ditch or neighbor's impermeable surfaces cause all localized water to flow onto your property, a professional landscape architect and surveyor must be consulted.…Keep reading
