Social Media especially Facebook and Twitter are very much popular all around the globe. Every one is using them whether he/she is a student, businessman, housewives, religious scholars etc.

Name anyone from any class of life and you will find him a user of any of the above mentioned media.

The popularity is increasing by every passing day. We have already seen that businesses are advertising and winning customers through Facebook whereas recruiters are recruiting potential candidates through Facebook too. Some are making friends while others are searching for their life partners. All this and many more activities like games, information gathering are being carried out through these social networks.

All of the above mentioned activities may not look odd to anyone but what is interesting about the Facebook is that it may be the first time that social media is being used to develop relationships with other country.

As we all know that Pakistan has no diplomatic relations with Israel and infect Pakistan hasn't recognized Israel till yet but in an attempt to foster relationships with Pakistani people, especially with youth, Israel has decided to use much popular social media Facebook.

They have created a page on Facebook by the name of Israel in Pakistan.

At first, by the title of Page, it looks as if Israeli embassy is working in Pakistan but when you go into "info" tab, only then situation gets little clearer.

The information mentioned on the page is as below:

Since Israel and Pakistan do not enjoy formal diplomatic relations, this online embassy serves to foster friendship between nationals of Israel and Pakistan on Facebook. Hopefully we can soon build real embassies in Pakistan and Israel, Shalom!

"The Embassy of Israel in Pakistan has created this Facebook page as a resource of information on Israel and provides updates on the Mission’s activities to the general public."

For the time being they have also allowed user postings on the page and till date 2350 people have joined the page. The page is being advertised rigorously through Facebook adverts. Till now most of the postings on the page contain hatred and racism against Jews & Israel.

Let's see how much they will be successful in their attempt to develop relations with Pakistan. But one thing that people should do that despite the hatred with Israel they should comment or post in a civilized manner as they are representing Pakistan.

Right now people are posting in an offensive, uncivilized manner which is bringing disrepute for them and country as well.

Moreover this matter should be taken at Pakistan Government level and government should devise a strategy in this regard too.

We have all heard of international observances or days dedicated in support of a cause or to mark an issue of concern or interest and promote awareness, such as Earth Day, World Cancer Day, International Women's Day, Valentines Day, Friendship Day, World Poetry Day, World Health Day, World Dance Day, World Smile Day and so on.

Friendship Day, for example, which began in the US, is celebrated with great zeal and hype around the occasion, to create awareness about the Day and promote friendship and brotherhood. Although the reasons for establishing this Day are not clear, the retrospection of the world scenario in those days can lead us to an understanding.

With the devastating effects of First World War, such as increased hostilities and hatred between countries, there was a greater need for friendship among individuals and nations. Hence, in 1935 the US Congress dedicated a Day in the honor of friends and friendship, and it became an annual event, which was adopted by several other countries. Friendship Day is celebrated around the world, including Pakistan, with friends exchanging cards, flowers and gifts.

In Pakistan, many such traditions and international observances are adopted and celebrated, such as International Women's Day, Valentines Day and so on. The Sab Keh Do day, was launched as a unique initiative in Pakistan in April 2009, to celebrate the importance of self-expression and welcome people to say what is on their minds; to express their feelings, views and thoughts freely. By promoting open communication, the Day is a much needed initiative to bridge gaps.

Sab Keh Do is a step in the right direction to encourage communication and increased dialogue between individuals, to promote a positive change in society. Research has shown that poor communication fosters misunderstandings, impaired trust, disagreements, ill feelings and conflict among people. The objective of Sab Keh Do is to create a culture of honesty and respect, and promotes love and peace, by encouraging people to express their feelings openly, clear misunderstandings and build positive communication.

In an increasingly globalized world, with the facilities of modern communication technologies available to us, staying in touch with family and friends in different cities or countries is as simple as making a phone call or sending an SMS.

This year, the Sab Keh Do theme song sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, with its inspiring lyrics and melodious beat, puts a smile on your face every time you listen to it. It truly reflects the spirit of Sab Keh Do and spreads the message of positive communication, friendship, love, honesty and peace.

When The Sab Keh Do was celebrated in 2009 and 2010, various activities were held, including painting and essay writing competitions in more than 100 schools across Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. These paintings and essays were also included in the Sab Keh Do carnivals held during the month. The Sab Keh Do team interacted with students and encouraged them to express themselves through paintings and essays. This activity promoted talent and creativity in children and but also gave them an avenue for self-expression. There is a need for more such innovative and progressive activities in schools in Pakistan, to foster creativity and healthy competition among children.

Although the Sab Keh Do Day is marked in our calendars as a Day to be celebrated on any weekend of the month of April, it is more than just a Day; it is an inspiring vision which continues to touch the hearts of many, and it is truly the first step towards betterment of society. Sab Keh Do promotes a culture of open communication, honesty and respect and will surely albeit gradually bring about a positive change in the mindset of people, especially the younger generation, who are responsible for the future of our country.

You bought an HDTV, but chances are you were disappointed because your local cable channels or DVDs just didn't look as spectacular as the videos they were playing at the display centers. Or maybe you are just tired of the video quality of the content that you watch on your TV.

Interface:

When used for photos, O!Play Mini automatically scales the images to fit the screen's format, allows you to rotate the image and even to adjust the color saturation.

Format Support and Performance:

The player supports literally everything thrown at it. It handles every format extremely well, which a very pleasant surprise since I wasn’t expecting such good support for a cheap end player.

While previous generation TV's could used the analogical composite connection and stereo sound through RCA connection, LCD TV owners can use the HDMI 1.3 cable provided with the accessories in the box.

Its worth mentioning here that the device supports full 1080p / 60 HZ resolution. The HDMI port can also handle true high-definition 7.1 audio supporting playback of Blu-ray content. No frozen frames or The "Play, Unlimited!" tagline isn’t a marketing ploy after all.

Mobile Service Restored in Dera Ismail Khan

Mobile phone services in Dera Ismail Khan are reportedly restored, after a notification has been sent to all cellular service providers to restore services in the region after at least 18 months, reported BBC Urdu.

BBC says that services are to be restored by Friday morning after political and business personalities from Dera Ismail Khan recently met the high-ups at GHQ and told them about their difficulties due to this security-aimed cellular ban.

BBC further reports that cellular and landline services in other KKP districts, including Bannu, Tank, Lucky Marwat are going to remain down as this restoration is for Dera Ismail Khan only.

Cellular services in DI Khan and other districts of KKP was discontinued when Army had initiated its operation in Southern Wazirastan.

We have reached out to cellular companies and PTA to get the report confirmed. We will update this post when and if we get any words from there.
