By Claude Glenda Knapp

Computer is the most advantageous device soon afterwards the wheel. It has totally changed our lives. The internet has connected everyone. Nowadays, the world was turned out into a global village. The internet made it possible for us to keep in touch with the people on the opposite side of the world. It has changed the concept of living. The introduction of the internet has made its way to the existence of broadband service which attain its climax these days. The broadband system consists of techniques that enable you to get internet at high speed. All over the world, an array of organizations give a broadband services. In the recent years many companies have introduced a new system that is more efficient and powerful. This system is named as optical fibre broadband.

FIBER BROADBAND PLAN: A whole new plan for the fibre broadband has been provided by the British Telecommunications group or also noted as BT group. The plan is solely to grant internet modalities at cheaper rates to over 10 million subscribers. The completion of this rollout of FTTC will be on 2012 according to their spokesperson. The BT's management is very confident and it says they are fully confident that customers will appreciate their high class services despite the fact that the view of the market analysts and critics that the BT will have a hard time completing this project and collect the revenues. Provision of an internet modality at a very fast speed is basically given by the company. This program has two different parts. One is called the FTTH (fiber to the home) and the second is called FTTC (FIBER TO THE CABINET). These two have the same goal which is to provide fiber broad band to its customers but each of them will work differently. The FTTH program will send 100 Mbps speeds and the FTTC will provide only 40 Mbps speed.

The broadband of the FTTC program will initially reach the box then the cable from the box will carry it to the home or premises. It has enough speed for the home or small office use. The target year of the BT is 2010 in order to provide this FTTC broadband to about 10 million people. They have completed all their calculation and are very hopeful for this project.

FUTURE ASPECTS OF THE ROLLOUT OF FTTC FTTC broadbands have large number of advantages for the customers as well as the manufacturers. Good quality internet services which includes all the programs etc at the cheaper rates will be provided by the FTTC broadbands. This project takes an advantage since it has a minimum investment at the start and maximum profit at the end.

TOTAL INVESTMENT BY THE BT FOR ROLLOUT OF FTTC A 16.5 billion difference between the common completion cost of this project and the British telecommunication. No doubt, the management of the BT says that the customers will be ready to give 5 a premium for getting the high quality and efficient internet connection. If nothing will hinder to the expectations of the BT, in 2012 over 10 million people will be using the fiber broadband at their home as well in the offices. This will be a new addition and a start of another success story for the whole world.
