The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has given proposals to government, asking it to take necessary steps regarding the taxes implementation and revenue generation.

Another tax may soon be hitting the cellular subscribers and in fact an unreceptive one.

The proposal suggested the government for generating Rs. 120 billion by imposing a monthly tax on cellular phone connections.

As per FPCCI Budget Proposals 2011/12, this tax can be generated from the cellular subscribers who are in a large number now in the country.

Proposal said that this amount can be generated by considering the fact that there are almost 100 million cellular phone connections in the country and by applying a monthly tax of Rs. 100 , government can easily generate a huge amount.

Through a rough calculation; this tax, if put into practice will make government generate an amount of Rs. 10 billion per month from the cellular subscribers and on this upcoming kid of government will pocket Rs. 210 billion for government.

Proposal said that this revenue, generated, will be abstracted for Benazir Income Support Fund.

Zong cricket team has won the "Islamabad Amateur Cricket League T20 Tournament" at Marghazar Cricket Ground Islamabad. ZONG cricket team beat Brothers XI by 8 wickets.

Batting first Brothers XI scored 159 runs in 20 overs with loss of eight wickets. ZONG, in reply, achieved the target in 16.2 overs with the loss of two wickets. Chasing a stiff target of 160 runs ZonG Openers Usman Javed Ch & Asif Mahmood gave the ideal blistering start to the inning by scoring 45 runs of just 4 overs. Both the batsman made 26 & 45 runs respectively. Rouman Talat the leading top scorer of the tournament yet again scored 81 runs in just 41 balls with the strike rate of 197.56. He hit 13 fours and 3 sixes in his innings.

Zong Cricket team had reached the finals of Islamabad Amateur Cricket League T20 Tournament by beating 5 corporate teams. ZONG team has been performing outstandingly during these tournaments by reaching the 3rd season's semifinal and this time the final of season 4. 17 teams participated in the tournament and reaching the final is a remarkable achievement by ZONG.

With the name of Venture Max, Qubee now introduces, though apparently, unlimited 1.5Mbps at same price as Wi-Tribe is offering.

Charges:

Monthly Charges of Rs. 2400
Security deposit of Rs. 3200 (refundable)
Total upfront charges for new connection:
- Indoor Modem: Rs. 5200
- Wifi Modem: Rs. 5700
- Shuttle: Rs. 5200

As per Qubee, the package is unlimited as Qubee says:

The unlimited packages have no cap on the amount a customer downloads. However, the customer bandwidth may be subjected to a higher contention

But while talking to a Qubee representative, he told that this package is unlimited in the sense that if you corss the monthly cap of 40GB, you will still be able to use the internet but the connection speed will be limited to 64Kbps for that month. Once the billing cycle completes, your connection speed will be restored to original one.

Also Qubee website says that “Out of bundle charges Rs 0.11 per MB” but he said that there are no extra charges for the over usage for unlimited package but the over usage will result in the reduction in connection speed, as described earlier

The unlimited packages for residential users are not usable by commercial users or for further reselling as per directives of PTA

Yes, inside that Osama’s compound in Abbottabad. To add to the curiosity, here is an exciting thing for gamers.

Now you can play Osama’s compound map in Counter Strike Source, a very famous shooting game. The map is named as fy_abbottabad and now available for download here – size 1MB.

Map creator says:
